We’re so excited to announce a new collaboration with the well curated Apartment Number 9, located in the heart of the Bucktown neighborhood in Chicago. Offering a variety of fits, high quality craftsmanship, and subtle detailing, Apartment Number 9 aims to make men feel comfortable, functional, and stylish to boot. Expect to find fashion forward brands including Band of Outsiders, Rag & Bone, Maison Martin Margiela, and A.P.C. In addition to menswear, Apartment Number 9 also houses the ONLY Warby Parker showroom in the Midwest with a full collection of eyewear and non-prescription sunglasses.
In my first installment for the collaboration, I wanted to highlight the ‘Summer Sports Jacket’, an essential for Chicago’s upcoming hot summer days. Uplift just about anything from a basic polo to your formal shirt and tie with this fail-proof piece of menswear. I find myself constantly turning to my summer sports jackets during the hotter months of the year for their versatility and endless ways to style. Transitioning into warmer weather will be easier if you opt for fabrics like tropical wools, cottons, linens, and silk blends. Keep in mind that with these fabrics you’re inevitably going to experience some wrinkles and that’s OK…in fact…it’s great. Wrinkles are going to give you an awesome tailored yet lived-in, casual look that will up your style game this summer. So don’t sweat it, just embrace the careless summer moments and the wrinkles that come with it.
In this look, I chose to go with a light gray Paul Smith cotton/linen blend sports jacket and a Band of Outsiders jacquard shirt for a spruced up, casual look. Below, I have on a Paul Smith belt, chinos by Save Khaki made from a super comfortable washed cotton, and my own rust colored shoes from Reiss. To top off the look, I have a handsome bag by Libero Ferrero (on sale) made with tanned Horween leather, brass hardware, and finished with a medical-grade navy nylon interior. It is both spacious enough for daily use or a quick weekend trip. Count on keeping this baby for the long haul, as it will only get better with age.
