When the frigid morning air is followed by afternoons of sun and melting snow, you’ll need an outfit as dynamic as the shifty weather that has slammed the midwest and northeast over the past couple weeks. Thinking outside of the box by layering staples already in your closet can make your cold-weather line-up go from drab to sharp instantly.
For this week’s look, I started with comfort as the top priority. Throwing on my favorite pair of wool joggers and slipping into a warm turtleneck makes the snow-lined streets seem a bit more bearable. I brightened up the look with a light wash denim jacket adding an unexpected layer to the common blazer and base-layer combo. This trusted piece of outerwear is not only an ideal layering piece ready to sit under topcoats and tailored blazers when temperatures drop, but it’s the perfect weight for handling cool summer nights and crisp fall days. To elevate the look, I opted for a deep green corduroy jacket and casually dropped in a pop of color with a burnt orange pocket square. To top it all off, I wore my mirrored Illesteva sunglasses that reminds us all that summer is just a few months away.
