When looking for a boutique that’s got the perfect mix between contemporary and timeless chic, Space519 is the place to go. Their collection is always bang on trend, usually one step ahead of the rest. Each item curated in the store has a certain sense of finesse to it that could easily score a polished/sophisticated look. Space519 was founded in May 2011 as a general store that is anything but general.
This concept store located in the 900 North Michigan Shops on Chicago’s Magnificent Mile. Noted retailers Lance Lawson and Jim Wetzel specialize in curating an assortment of hard-to-find items across a broad range of categories including women’s and men’s apparel, accessories, apothecary, books, furniture and home items. Lawson and Wetzel scour the globe to bring cutting-edge designers, the most coveted beauty products, and other covetable items to their savvy clientele. As a beauty junkie myself- I found them using all my current products obsessions- Aesop, Verso and Sasha Juan… what more can a girl need to maintain?
If you’re thinking of a comparison to what Space519 feels like, then I would say that it is a mix of the following: a boutique version of Barneys in terms of Merchandise, Woodley & Bunny Brooklyn for their apothek collection, Harvey Nichols for interior design, a book selection that would make the SLS Bazaar in LA envious and your very stylish friends’s home for that sense of warmth and personal care to their customers. When in Chicago, I recommend you give this spot a visit for some fabulously and carefully curated finds.
