Black & White have been known to exude a classic charm like no other, for instance: old movies, photographs, tuxedos, chanel and now it is your wardrobe! When it comes to putting together an outfit, most of the time the best looks unravel in the simplest of forms. No need to feel pressure to overly accessorize or stress the details, because sometimes the biggest statement is one that is clean and minimalistic. That explains why this particular look I am wearing is based around two colors: black and white.
While an assortment of pastels and color hues are usually the summer go-to, neutral colors can make just as much as a fashion impact.While taking a look at some of the spring/summer collections for 2014, black and white was a common ground for many designers, creating a bold and modern statement that was anything but unappealing or basic. You may feel as though black isn’t the best color for warmer months, but when used to punctuate against a whitegarment, you’ll find that the two shades create a mood that is fresh, energetic, sporty and young.
For this look, I am wearing a Commes des Garcons white top with textured details near shoulders and neckline of the shirt, along with a black pencil skirt. The forming fit of the skirt that comes right below my knee provides a clean and sleek balance for the strong statement that the top makes. I let my outfit and details on the top do the talking and did not accessorise, simply a slick a hairstyle, sunglasses, black pointed toe heels, and some red lipstick to complete the look!
The beauty of this classic trend, is that it is suitable for almost all occasions! Add white and black to your office wardrobe, a day running around the city or a night out with the girls. Wherever you take this look, know black and white are the power couple of fashion and when they join forces, it is always a good, classic outcome that will never disappoint!
