With a classic design and rugged appeal, there’s probably no better article of menswear to project a casual or straight-up rebellious look than a great fitting leather biker jacket. The minute I put my arms through the sleeves of my Burberry biker jacket, I instantly felt myself turn into a more bad*** version of myself. The type of person who’s not afraid of taking risks or venturing into the unknown.
This specific type of leather biker jacket is most commonly referred to as the ‘Perfecto’, which become famous by one of the most influential actors of all time, Mr. Marlon Brando, in the 1950s. It’s snug fit cut close to the body, diagonal zipper detailing, and heavy duty metal hardware set this leather jacket apart to be an effortlessly stylish menswear staple.
The easiest and most timeless way to wear a leather biker jacket is with a t-shirt and denim, which is exactly what I wanted to show you in this post. This same concept can be tweaked by wearing a vintage graphic t-shirt and black denim or a white t-shirt and selvedge denim for an ultra classic look. The key to rocking the leather biker jacket is to wear it without a care in the world. It should look like something that was just thrown on as you were leaving your apartment, not something that you spent an hour planning an outfit with. Even if the closest connection you have to a biker is the seamless driver who delivered your pad thai, it’s no excuse to not invest in a great leather jacket and get in on the action.
