It’s hard to believe that May is coming to a close, but rather than dwelling over our limited days of beautiful Chicago weather, let’s just be thankful that it’s finally the weekend! If your work week consists of a suit and tie, it’s time to ditch them for a couple days and don something a bit more comfortable, yet stylish. In our second installment with Apartment Number 9, we wanted to feature a great weekend look. To do so, I’ve paired a seersucker shirt under a textured navy crew-neck sweater which adds structure to a more laid back ensemble. Advice…switch out the t-shirt underneath and opt for a cotton button-up when you’re wearing a crew-neck or v-neck sweater, heck, even underneath a sweatshirt. Layers will definitely be your best friend for the next few weeks with daily temperatures ranging from summery 80 degree afternoons to brisk 50 degree nights. Mixing and matching these layers makes it easy to play around with cool colors and patterns. I also want to highlight the Daniel Wellington watch that has taken over the menswear blogosphere. If you’re aware of current trends in menswear, you’re probably familiar with these simple nato strap watches that are very gentlemanly but still relaxed and unpretentious at the same time.
I work very hard, and I play very hard. I’m grateful for life. And I live it- I believe life loves the liver of it. I live it. -Maya Angelou
