New York Fashion Week (NYFW) is always an exciting time in the fashion industry. America’s leading designers spend their sleepless nights preparing their final looks, models fly in from all over the world, and bloggers flock to the Lincoln Center to share next season’s looks with their followers. Below, I have curated my top 3 Fall/Winter 2014 looks from some of my favorite designers that may not be on your radar.

Bespoken
This new menswear duo with a Savile Row bloodline was named one of the best new menswear designers in America by GQ magazine in 2013. Their bespoke heritage combined with their modern rocker aesthetic is apparent in their F/W 2014 collection, characterized by innate attention to detail. The green quilted puffer jacket and supple oxblood leather jacket were two outerwear pieces that immediately caught my eye, along with a scaled up tartan suit. If you haven’t heard of Bespoken before, now is the time to keep up with the Fayed brothers and their awesome menswear label.
Billy Reid
Billy Reid, the Southern Gentleman at NYFW, has brought his rustic charm to the runway. The color palette was mostly comprised of gray, taupe, rust, navy, and shades of beige. I think what I love most about this collection is how he has combined a sense of ruggedness seamlessly alongside luxurious fabrics. Also, pay close attention to the beautiful footwear, especially the croc double monks in the first look.
David Hart
David Hart brought back a retro feel with his “Twilight Zone” inspired collection. The suits were crisp and tailored and the colors were refreshing for a Fall collection, e.g. the awesome green suit pictured above.
Ernest Alexander
Ernest Alexander presented moto inspired looks including cropped leather jackets and slim pants with leather patch details (not pictured). I’m a sucker for an asymmetrical moto jacket and this one just happened to be in an awesome, unconventional color that can still work as a staple in your wardrobe. Wear it with a basic white tee or layer up like above.
Michael Bastian
Inspired by his trips to Japan, Michael Bastian has incorporated an Asian flare into his fun yet luxurious collection. I’ve picked three dressier favorites because I love the way he doesn’t take formalwear too seriously. Designers like him make it cool for guys like us to pair a tuxedo jacket with denim for a night out.
Ovadia & Sons
The Ovadia brothers took a big step at this year’s NYFW as it was their first official runway show, and speaking of taking steps, this collection has proven just how much a label can grow in just a few short years. Previously known for their traditional designs, Shimon and Ariel stepped out of their comfort zones this season with an edgier feel and I think we’re all glad they did. I mean…look at that double breasted glen plaid topcoat and shearling!
