Transitioning to spring is one of a girls favorite things to do- bring on the pastels, the flower prints, lighter scarves and lighter tops. Being a student and a professional, I’ve always gone for comfortable yet stylish outfits that work during the day and take through the evening with a simple change of heels. I’ve found it hard to pick breezy yet stylish pieces from stores until I came across Lou & Grey. Cozy, comfortable and classy, Lou & Grey has these words #trending.
We are lucky to have Lou & Grey open a store in Chicago this spring. I was really excited to be one of the first to visit the store and pick out looks. I fell in love with the store as soon as I entered their airy, beautiful space. Well designed and modern, you feel transported to a world where every fashion item is a fairy tale, all the colors surrounding you are soft to the eye and the soul while the cheerful, friendly staff are like fairies from this fairy tale day dream. Their clothing- from the textures and prints to the mix of silk and sweatpants, the spring collection had me swooning over switching up my wardrobe. I never thought I would find a store that would be my perfect match in literally everything. Everyone wants to feel comfortable while looking Chic and Lou & Grey nails it. I’m going to share with you what I’ve picked:
When going to work you need to be comfortable. If you’re like me, sitting at a desk all day can be uncomfortable, especially when you’re wearing tight or unforgiving fabrics. When I saw this dress I knew I HAD to have it. With the drawstring waste line you are able to wear it loose or tight. It gives off a professional feel with the cut being at the collarbone, while being casual and comfortable to wear because of the sweatpants like fabric. The white button up jean jacket gives the outfit a more chic look. I then threw on a gorgeous delicate necklace to pull the look all together. I wanted the necklace not to be the focus point of the outfit. Having the perfect little glitz and glam is all you need to elevate your look.
Lets face it running around the city doing errands isn’t the most glamorous of things to do. But when needed you have to finish that “to do list” somehow, why not look trendy while doing it? With Spring/Summer right around the corner- white is in! I chose the striped green, white and blue sweater to go with these pants because it is the perfect mixture of dark and light colors without being too bold. If you’re like me going in and out of stores can be annoying, this scarf and green vest are the perfect way to be out and about and stay warm. The vest is my favorite, and a few of the other store employees as well. As soon as I saw them wearing it I had to try it on and fell in love.
This jacket was the first thing I saw when I walked in, one of the hosts greeting us was wearing it and I just had to try it on. The light weight fabric and the design gives this jacket the perfect addition to any outfit. This look is called my “Night out on the Town” look. When walking around all night in heels you want make sure your outfit is ready for the night as well. I never wanted to take off these jean shorts when I first tried them on. The elastic waistband makes it easy to walk around all night. I mixed it with this blue silk button up shirt to give off a more classy look, but leaving a few buttons undone to make sure I wasn’t being too professional. This necklace, with natural elements is the perfect statement necklace for the outfit because it is bold without being to over the top.
