A great addition to Chicago’s unique boutique hotel boom with modern design that somehow takes you on a historical journey. Previously The Amalfi Hotel, The Kenzie’s design is inspired by Chicago’s urban life and it’s unique history. It is located in the River North area, not too far away from the popular Chicago loop area and very close to the Merchandise Mart. In 7 mins, you can be at Millennium Park, Michigan Av or catch a movie at the Gene Siskel down on State Street. You’ll find a good mix of aesthetic and you’ll surely enjoy the Banksy inspired urban art around the hotel as shown in this photo below-
The hotel was inspired by John Kinzie, a famous Chicago settler (I would have loved to talk to him about the city, haha). For Wallpaper, they have used vintage Chicago city map, I’d like to think its a reminder for you to explore the city even more or just in case your Google Map machine is down, you’re never lost for direction.
The rooms are designed to showcase a lot of Chicago inspired elements. The amenities/bathroom products are by H20 Plus Spa and Keurig for coffeemakers. They also offer a complimentary continental breakfast, conveniently served on each floor just steps from the guest room.
The Double Cross Lounge in the reception is their hang out area to have a drink, unwind or network in the evening.
What else do they offer?
- They claim a lightning-fast WiFi throughout the hotel
- A complimentary 24-hour business centre
- A well-equipped 24-hour fitness center, featuring state-of-the-art equipment, free weights, Yoga/Pilates mats, and more.
