After 15 years of guys shopping at the secluded Saks Men’s Store across the street, Saks Fifth Avenue has finally welcomed us back to the flagship at 700 N. Michigan Ave. Although most guys could have seen the store across the street as an opportunity to avoid the “How does this dress look on me?” question while shopping with their female counterparts, express elevators will quickly take us away from all the unimportant stuff and directly to the immaculate men’s shop on the 6th & 7th levels…because we deserve nice things too.
On the 6th level you are greeted by a massive space, with modern fixtures juxtaposed with rustic touches including the chevron wood floor. Here you are supposed to feel as though you are in a modern haberdashery, with brands including Kiton, Ermenegildo Zegna, Brunello Cucinelli, Canali, Armani, Massimo Piombo, and Breuer. Along with these staples, you could also expand your horizons in the absolutely beautiful MTM room that resembles my dream living space. In the MTM room you will find walls lined with flannel suiting material, one of the many small details that make this space a truly luxurious pad for a gentleman to shop in Chicago.
On the 7th floor you can expect to find the more contemporary designer labels like Alexander McQueen, Versace, Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana, Etro, ZZegna, KENZO, and Paul Smith. Here you can also visit the cool denim bar and try on brands including Rag & Bone, Nudie, Hudson, AG Adriano Goldschmied, J Brand, Raleigh, and Diesel.
Very on trend and reminiscent of the Burberry AW14 runway show featuring printed silk scarvesThe kicks don’t disappoint either…Saks on Michigan Ave is rumored to host THE largest selection of men’s shoes in the entire Midwest with over 500 styles!
As if all of these amenities weren’t enough, you can also stop by Saks’ first in-store restaurant/bar, Sophie’s (opening Jan.31). We got the inside scoop on the restaurant’s delectable American menu that you will soon be able to enjoy with one of the best views overlooking Michigan Ave. So go ahead…channel your inner Don Draper and sip on that whiskey while you design your MTM suit.
“We’re excited to now have the men’s and women’s collections all under one roof with the opening of The Fifth Avenue Man, providing a seamless shopping experience to our Saks Fifth Avenue Chicago customers. They will also be able to stop by new restaurant, Sophie’s, for a shopping pick-me-up.” – Julie Saunders (Marketing Director)
