It’s 2016 and you’ve probably gotten your suiting basics down. In your closet, you’ll find your go-tos like gray, navy, and khaki. Although these suits will take you through most of life’s more formal occasions, it’s time to turn up the volume with a BOLD suit you can actually pull off. Fall and winter is meant for heavy, textured fabrics that are more on the muted, darker side. For spring and summer, on the other hand, we encourage you to go bolder, just a tad past your comfort zone. We’re talking about color. A bold suit…on top of being a fun alternative to your usual, will help you exude confidence this season. Don’t doubt that all eyes will be on you as you stroll down the street.
You’re going to be wearing a lot of a standout color (something you may not be comfortable with initially) so we’ve got some inspiration to get you going. First, wear the suit with confidence as if you’ve been wearing it for years. The rest of the world might be wondering why you’d put on such a flamboyant suit, well, instead wonder why they aren’t. We’ve all heard the notion, “real men wear pink”…so I thought why not apply that to suiting. For my look, I styled a Topman suit in a stucco pink color with a rather basic shirt and tie for a bold yet sophisticated outfit.
These suits are not traditional. The general public will see it as a bit of risk, but bold suits are the next step into defining your personal style and a little risk can go a long way. Step out of that comfort zone. You’ll be better for it. Pick a color, find the suit, and above all, have fun with it.
